IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream Review
I first heard of IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream while watching one of my favourite youtubers talk about her favourite makeup products. She talked about how it was one of the reasons why her cystic acne had improved so much.
Even though the foundation sounded good I was sceptical to buy it because of its high price tag.($58 in Australia)
When I first tried this product it was at least 6 months later and I was traveling in Australia backpacking around. My skin was breaking out from the climate change from Canada to Australia and I was getting desperate looking for a foundation that wouldn’t make things worse. At this point I had tried every other makeup product for acne prone skin types with no luck. Feeling like I was running out of options I bought the IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream and it was seriously a god send!
Things I did like:
There’s so much I love about this foundation, unlike many other foundations I have tried this one doesn’t have a heavy fragrance, it actually smells like tea tree oil just very natural and light.
When it comes to applying a little goes a long way. I just place a bit on my finger tips, begin to dab it on the different areas of my face and evenly distribute it with a damp sponge.
Once I have applied it I top my foundation off with a pressed powder.
I like to use Wild Nature America pressed foundation over my Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream to keep me shine free for the majority of the day.
I can usually wear this without any need to reapply for about 4 solid hours, and then I need to do some minor touch ups around my nose, chin and between my brows. I have a very oily skin type so someone with a drier skin type may not have to apply at all.
One of the best features of this product is it’s 50+ UVA AND UVB SPF rating. Most foundations usually only have a 15 to 20 SPF if any at all so finding one with 50+ really sold me.
Some other favourable properties it claims to have:
– Brightening color correction
– Anti Aging serum
– Pore minimizer
– Built in primer and day moisturizer
– Dark spot perfector
Things I didn’t like:
My dislikes with the Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream would have to be their small range of colour selection.
The shade I use is Light and I find it a little bit too orange for my naturally fair complexion, I tested the shade Fair in an Australian Sephora
and I found it too light to the point wear it would either make me look ghostly or it wouldn’t cover my acne spot.
The solution I have found for the shade Light being to orange is to mix it with another pale foundation until I get the desired shade I’m hoping for. (if you use this method and you have acne, make sure you use something that doesn’t irritate your skin)
When I moved back to Canada I was sad to realize that IT Cosmetics doesn’t sell to in Canada through their company or through Sephora like in Australia. I ended up having to order this product through Amazon. The pictures I’ve included of this foundation will take you to Amazon to buy the product once you click on them!
The only other thing I didn’t love about this product is the fact that the package writing rubs off when you carry it around like I did in my cosmetic bag and purse. Inevitably when I needed to order a new tube I noticed all the writing was gone and I had no idea what shade I was supposed to buy, luckily I took a wild guess and I was right but I suggest you just write down your shade if you like it.
Overall this is the best foundation I’ve used. It’s easy to apply, you only need a few drops to do your whole face, the coverage is medium to heavy, it has sun protection and the BEST part is it doesn’t cause me to breakout! Also I have noticed my entire complexion and acne spots have cleared up and evened out.
If you have any questions about my experience with this or maybe you want to share your favourite acne free foundation, I would love to hear about it!
